This weekend is a holiday weekend! For the unofficial start of summer, there are lots of things to do in America’s Finest City, especially for families. Here are just a few.*
Vista Strawberry Festival – this festival features a fun run, a pie eating contest, local craft brews for the adults, and of course lots of strawberries.
Marathon Organ Concert – The Spreckels Organ at Balboa Park is beautiful, large , loud, and 100 years old! It has over 4,000 pipes and an organist who loves to play it. This weekend, she will try for a world record-setting marathon session to benefit local wounded warriors. Pets are welcome.
Ethnic Food Fair – also at the Balboa Park is the 35th annual ethnic food fair. The cottages will be serving food and be hosting entertainment like music and dance on the stage.
If you, like many other San Diego families, have child visitation orders, check them now. Visitation orders will set out the schedule for holiday visitation. If there is any question as to who your child is supposed to be with for Memorial day, be sure to get that sorted out sooner rather than later so you can enjoy the weekend. Whatever you decide to do, make it a safe and fun holiday!
